摘要
事件视界望远镜(EHT)已获得首张超大质量黑洞图像,揭示了椭圆星系 M87 与银河系中的中心致密天体。通过下一代 EHT(ngEHT)项目对该阵列的拟议升级将大幅提高现有 EHT 观测的角分辨率、动态范围与时间覆盖。这些改进将独特地促成大量与黑洞科学相关的变革性新发现,从强引力的事件视界尺度研究,到爆发暂现源研究,再到超大质量黑洞的宇宙学增长与影响。在此,我们提出 ngEHT 的关键科学目标及其相关的仪器需求,二者均通过涉及全球数百名科学家的多年国际努力制定。
