JWST-TST DREAMS:WASP-17b日侧大气超太阳金属丰度来自NIRISS SOSS日食光谱

我们报告了首次对热气巨星WASP-17b的发射光谱,使用来自JWST近红外仪器和狭缝less光谱仪(NIRISS)单对象狭缝less光谱法(SOSS)模式的日食观测。覆盖0.6至2.8微米的波长范围,我们的反演分析显示WASP-17b日侧大气中H2O的检测显著(6.4sigma)。我们的反演结果一致偏好WASP-17b日侧的超太阳H2O丰度和覆盖广泛压力范围的非倒置温度-压力剖面。此外,我们检查了亮度温度,发现1微米以下的 excess emission,暗示可能存在较高的内部温度(600至700 K)和/或来自反射光的贡献。我们指出,JWST发射光谱反演结果可能对在光度曲线拟合期间是否允许光谱波段的负日食深度敏感。我们的发现深化了对WASP-17b大气组成的理解,同时也突显了我们结果对温度-压力剖面参数化的敏感性。这一工作是JWST望远镜科学家团队(JWST-TST)的一部分,团队将利用保证观测时间执行对行星大气的深层侦察,通过多仪器光谱学(DREAMS)进行。
