鉴于球状星系（及其星系中心的星系盘）与其中心巨型黑洞之间存在紧密关联，一致的模型必须同时处理这两个组成部分的演化。我们描述了此类模型，该模型成功地解释了当地球状星系的光度函数、其光度和化学性质、不同波段的深层星系计数，包括亚毫米波段，这对于当前基于标准层次聚类图景的半声学模型至关重要，解释了 SCUBA 星系、EROs 和 LBGs 的聚类性质，以及当地巨型黑洞质量函数和类鲨鱼演化。提出可被 SIRTF 所进行的调查所检验的预测。
