M87 超大质量黑洞附近喷流发射结构的解析

约 10% 的活动星系核表现出相对论性喷流,这些喷流由物质吸积到超大质量黑洞提供动力。虽然在大尺度上测得的此类喷流宽度剖面与磁准直理论相符,但在喷流发射点的吸积盘尺度上预测的结构尚未被探测到。我们报告了对椭圆星系 M87 在 1.3mm 波长的射电干涉观测,空间上解析了该源中喷流的基部。推导出的尺寸为 5.5 +/- 0.4 史瓦西半径,显著小于逆行吸积盘的最内边缘,这表明 M87 喷流是由围绕旋转黑洞顺行轨道上的吸积盘提供动力的。
