利用光中子源在 CDMSlite 锗探测器中测量电离产额

摘要

SuperCDMS 合作组使用了两个光中子源 ^88Y^9Be 与 ^124Sb^9Be,来研究 CDMSlite 锗探测器中核反冲的电离产额。本工作评估了在温度约 50 mK 下、核反冲能量介于 1 keV 与 7 keV 之间的产额。我们使用 Geant4 模拟来建模中子能谱,假设了一个电荷产额模型,该模型是标准 Lindhard 模型的推广,由两个能量相关参数组成。我们利用模拟的中子能谱、建模的本底以及实验数据进行似然分析,以获得产额模型的最佳拟合值。结果表明,在 1 keV 至 7 keV 的反冲能量之间,电离产额显著低于标准 Lindhard 模型对锗的预测。不同实验采用多种技术研究核反冲产额的低能区(对直接暗物质搜寻的解释最为关键)时普遍缺乏一致性。这表明许多直接探测实验用于建模其初级信号探测机制的物理过程具有复杂性,并凸显了需要进一步研究以澄清迄今为止尚未被很好理解的基础系统效应。
