用于表征 Tara Pacific 探险中珊瑚礁生态系统的整合组学框架

摘要

珊瑚礁科学是一个快速发展的领域,其驱动力在于更好地理解珊瑚健康与韧性,以制定策略减缓由环境压力造成的礁体丧失。珊瑚韧性的关键在于在复杂全生物体内建立的共生相互作用,即由宿主珊瑚生物、内共生甲藻、细菌、古菌、真菌和病毒组成的多方组合。Tara Pacific 是一个雄心勃勃的项目,建立在先前 Tara Oceans 探险经验之上,并利用最先进的测序技术和分析来剖析横跨整个太平洋绝大多数群岛筛选的珊瑚全生物体的生物多样性和生物复杂性。在此我们详述了 Tara Pacific 用于多组学数据生成的流程,从样本处理到核苷酸序列数据生成与存储。这一独特多维框架还包含大量同步收集的伴随元数据,提供了对珊瑚礁生物多样性(包括微生物多样性)的新评估,并塑造了未来对珊瑚礁动态及其在人类世中命运的研究。
