在过去、现在和未来的巡天数据集中可以发现多少千新星?

摘要

与 Advanced LIGO (aLIGO)/Virgo 事件 GW170817 相关的千新星 (KN) 的发现,为多信使天体物理学开辟了新途径。在此,利用真实模拟,我们估计了在没有引力波触发的情况下,在过去的、现在的和未来的巡天数据中可能发现的千新星数量。在模拟中,我们基于已知的唯一一次千新星事件构建了 DES-GW 多波段光曲线光谱时间序列模型,并使用了以往研究中 103Gpc3/year10^3 \rm{Gpc}^{-3}/\rm{year} 的双中子星 (BNS) 并合率平均值,这与迄今为止发现的 1 次事件相符。通过检查暂现源巡天的过去和当前数据集,我们预计在 ASAS-SN、SDSS、PS1、SNLS、DES 和 SMT 中能发现的千新星数量在 0 到 0.3 之间。我们预测每次未来巡天的探测数量为:ATLAS 为 8.3,ZTF 为 10.6,LSST(深钻 / 广角快速深度)为 5.5/69,WFIRST 为 16.0。各巡天发现的千新星最大红移为:WFIRST 为 z=0.8z = 0.8,LSST 为 z=0.25z = 0.25,ZTF 和 ATLAS 为 z=0.04z = 0.04。对于 LSST 巡天,我们还提供了 Ia 型和核坍缩超新星的污染估计:在满足光曲线和模板匹配要求后,我们估计背景事件仅为 2 例。更广泛地说,我们强调未来的暂现源巡天应考虑如何优化其搜索策略以提高探测效率,并考虑对引力波后续观测计划进行类似分析。
