HESS J1741-302:银道面中隐藏的加速器

H.E.S.S.合作组发现了一处位于银道面的新甚高能(VHE,E 0.1 TeV)射线源HESS J1741-302。尽管多次尝试约束其性质,迄今在X射线与MeV/GeV 射线能段均未发现合理的对应体,该源仍未被证认。对HESS J1741-302在甚高能波段145小时观测的分析揭示了一个稳定且相对微弱的TeV源(约为蟹状星云通量的1),其谱指数 = 2.3 0.2 0.2,延伸至高达10 TeV的能量而无任何明显的截断特征。在强子情形下,如此能谱意味着该天体可将粒子加速至数百TeV的能量。与多数H.E.S.S.未证认源不同,HESS J1741-302的角大小与H.E.S.S.在甚高能处的点扩散函数相容,其在99置信水平下的延展被约束在0.068以下。H.E.S.S.探测到的射线发射既可在强子情形下解释——源于数百TeV质子与致密分子云的碰撞;也可在轻子情形下解释——作为一个遗迹脉冲星风星云,可能由中年(20 kyr)脉冲星PSR B1737-30驱动。亦设想了一种双星情形,其与被发现空间上和HESS J1741-302最佳拟合位置重合的致密射电源1LC 358.266+0.038相关。
