利用软件补偿技术的高粒度闪烁体 - 钢强子量能器的强子能量分辨率

摘要

在 CERN SPS 上,使用能量从 10 GeV 到 80 GeV 的带电π介子,研究了高粒度 1 m3^3 模拟闪烁体 - 钢强子量能器的能量分辨率。单个强子的能量分辨率确定为约 58%/sqrt(E/GeV)。通过软件补偿技术,该分辨率提高至约 45%/sqrt(E/GeV)。这些技术利用了量能器的成像能力所提供的关于强子簇射子结构的事件逐事件信息。能量重建可以通过基于局部能量密度的修正,或者通过将源自簇射能量密度全局度量的单一修正因子应用于事件能量总和来改善。将补偿算法应用于 Geant4 模拟所产生的分辨率改进与真实数据中观察到的相当。
