我们比较了围绕NGC 1399、NGC 1404和NGC 1380的全球星团系统的属性，这些是福尔纳星系簇中心最亮的三颗早型星系。全球星团系统在定性上非常相似，指向相似的形成机制。然而，NGC 1399拥有约10倍的全球星团数量，尽管其亮度仅比其他两颗星系高0.3-0.4 mag。进一步地，围绕NGC 1399的全球星团运动学倾向于将大部分星团与星系簇相关联，而非与巨型椭圆星系相关联。因此，星团被剥离并在星系簇中心积累似乎在构建这座cD星系的高比特数方面发挥了重要作用。
