摘要
更优科学软件奖学金（BSSwF）于2018年启动，旨在培育和推广改进科学代码开发者生产力与软件可持续性的实践、流程和工具。BSSwF的愿景是与从业者、领导者、导师和顾问一起发展社区，以提升科学软件生产与可持续发展的可见度。在过去五年中，许多奖学金获得者和荣誉提名者已认定为研究软件工程师（RSEs）。本文提供了来自该项目若干参与者的案例研究，以说明BSSwF以多种不同方式惠及RSE和科学社区。在RSE的贡献常常被低估的环境中，我们认为诸如BSSwF这样的项目可以成为一种宝贵手段，以认可并鼓励社区成员走出其常规承诺，并为更广泛的受众拓展其工作、合作与想法。
