摘要
网络层的传统作用是通过中间网络节点将数据包副本从源端传输到目的端。我们提出了一种生成式网络层，它在中间或边缘网络节点使用生成式人工智能（GenAI），并分析了其对网络所需数据速率的影响。我们进行了一项案例研究，其中由 GenAI 辅助的节点根据包含高度压缩的潜在表示的提示生成图像。在图像质量约束下的网络流量分析结果表明，生成式网络层在所需数据速率方面可以实现超过 100% 的提升。
