摘要

Gemini 多共轭自适应光学系统(GeMS)是安装在 Gemini South 望远镜上的设施级仪器,可在近红外波长(0.95 微米至 2.5 微米)范围内,于 120 角秒的视场中提供均匀的、近衍射极限的图像。GeMS 是天文学中首个基于钠层的多激光导星自适应光学系统。它利用分布在 60 角秒正方形阵列上的五颗激光导星来测量大气畸变,并使用两块可变形镜对其进行补偿。在本文中,作为专门描述 GeMS 项目的第二篇文章,我们介绍了 GeMS 的调试、整体性能及运行方案。各子系统的性能由调试结果推导得出。随后描述了该系统输出的典型图像质量,以半高全宽、Strehl 比及其在视场内的变化来表征。文中还讨论了导致性能受限的主要因素。最后,介绍了系统开销及未来的系统升级计划。
