星系是宇宙中基本的构建块。然而,它们是微弱且复杂的X射线源,需要高性能仪器才能进行适当研究。尽管如此,它们对于我们理解宇宙至关重要,并且对本地结构的详细了解是解释深远宇宙所必需的。我们列举了几个例子,并讨论了WFXT在解决这一问题上的适用性。
