摘要
我们提出一种称为Mu2e-II的Mu2e实验演进方案,该方案将利用探测器技术的进步,并使用费米实验室PIP-II升级所提供的增强质子束流强度,将无中微子μ子到电子转换的灵敏度在Mu2e实验基础上提高一个数量级,从而在可预见的未来提供对带电轻子味破坏最深入的探测。Mu2e-II将尽可能多地利用Mu2e的基础设施,并在需要之处对Mu2e装置进行改进,以适应增强的束流强度并应对随之增加的本底。
