自调制质子束驱动等离子体尾场扩展时标动力学的实验研究

摘要

在先进尾场实验(AWAKE)中,对长达 800 ps(约 100 个等离子体周期)时标上的等离子体尾场动力学进行了实验研究。由自调制质子束驱动的纵向尾场振幅的发展通过外部注入采样场的见证电子来测量。在模拟中,尾场的共振激发导致等离子体电子轨迹交叉,随着电子被横向抛出,在等离子体边界外产生电势。实验测量到与该电势存在一致的趋势,并通过种子激光时序扫描和电子注入延迟扫描研究了其对尾场振幅的依赖性。
