Majorana Demonstrator 校准数据中 13C(α,n)16O 反应的实验研究

摘要

中子俘获与反应产物的延迟衰变是超稀有事件搜寻中常见的本底来源。本工作中,我们研究了由 \textsc{Majorana Demonstrator} 校准源内发射的 α 粒子所诱导的 13^{13}C(α,n)16\alpha,n)^{16}O 反应。这些源是基于钍的校准标准,封装于富碳材料中。当入射 α 粒子能量超过反应 Q 值时,会布居激发态 16^{16}O,我们利用该态发射的 6129-keV γ 射线估算了反应速率。得益于 \textsc{Demonstrator} 锗探测器的优异能量性能,这些特征光子可在校准数据中被清晰观测到。借助 \textsc{Geant4} 模拟,我们将观测到的 6129-keV 光子率与基于 TALYS 的软件预测进行了比较。尽管统计不确定性较大,测量与预测结果一致。该一致性为未来双β衰变搜寻中来自 (α,n) 反应的本底预估提供了支持。
