在大 Nc 极限下，轨道激发双夸克的物理现象得到显著简化。这些状态被排列成被压缩 SU(4)_c 对称性的不可约表示中，混合角度被精确确定。预测了强耦合 N* -> [Nπ]_{S,D} 的比值，这些结果与采用大 Nc 混合角度的夸克模型结果一致。我们从 1/Nc 展开的视角，对观察到的非夸克双夸克进行现象学分析，包括其质量和强衰变的约束。
