由开弦得到的例外群

摘要
我们考虑在存在互非局域 7-膜时紧致化于二维球面上的 IIB 型理论。与例外群规范矢量相联系的 BPS 态被视作来源于连接 7-膜的开弦，以及能够终结于多于两个 7-膜上的多分叉开弦。这些多分叉弦由开弦结构成，而当弦穿过 7-膜时此类结会自然出现。不同的弦构型可像传统开弦一样相乘，并被证明生成了例外群的结构。
