超高能伽马射线是强脉冲星附近的普遍特征的证据

摘要

已知最高能的伽马射线源均位于极强大脉冲星 0.5 度范围内。这引发了一个问题:超高能(UHE;>56 TeV)伽马射线发射是否是高自转减速功率脉冲星附近预期的普遍特征。利用高海拔水切伦科夫(HAWC)伽马射线天文台四年的数据,我们对十颗极强大脉冲星进行了联合似然分析,以搜寻与这些位置相关的 UHE 伽马射线发射。我们报告了显著探测结果(>3σ),表明 UHE 伽马射线发射是强脉冲星的普遍特征。我们讨论了伽马射线的发射机制以及该结果的含义。每颗脉冲星所处的个体环境似乎在其发射量中起着作用。
