对红巨星阿尔克图路斯 (Alpha Boo) 的观测数据经由 Wide Field Infrared Explorer (WIRE) 卫星在 2000 年 7-8 月连续 19 天的基线下进行分析。功率谱显示低频率处显著的能量过量。最高峰位于约 4.1 微赫兹，与 Belmonte 等 (1990a; 1990b) 的地面基径向速度和光度测量研究结果一致。阿尔克图路斯的变性可由声波解释，但尚不明确这些声波是否为相干 p 模态振荡。
