正在考虑在布鲁克本国家实验室 (BNL) 建设一种电子-质子/离子碰撞设施 (eRHIC)。这种新的设施需要设计和建造一个优化的探测器，以利用在 DESY HERA collider 所运行的 H1 和 ZEUS 探测器经验。设计细节将紧密耦合于交互区的设计，从而与整体机器开发工作相耦合。将提供加速器和探测器设计概念的概述。
