JUNO 中微子探测器的蒸馏与汽提中试装置:设计、运行与可靠性

摘要

本文描述了在大亚湾中微子实验室测试的蒸馏与汽提中试装置的设计、建造原则与运行,以期将这些工艺、系统洁净度与密封性适配于最终的全尺寸装置,后者将用于 JUNO 中微子探测器所用液体闪烁体的纯化。这些装置的主要目标是从液体闪烁体中去除放射性杂质,同时增加其光学衰减长度。液体闪烁体的纯化将通过一个结合氧化铝、蒸馏、水萃取和蒸汽(或 N2 气体)汽提的系统进行。此类组合系统旨在使 430 nm 处的总衰减长度大于 20 m,并使 238U 与 232Th 的体相放射纯度达到 10^-15 至 10^-17 g/g 范围。中试装置的调试与运行还提供了关于其主要部件可靠程度的有价值信息,这将特别有助于 JUNO 液体闪烁体最终全尺寸纯化设备的设计。本文描述五个中试装置中的两个,因为氧化铝柱、氟化混合和水萃取装置由合作组的中方负责。
