利用过热液体区分核反冲与α粒子

摘要

PICASSO 合作组首次观测到基于过热液体的探测器中,中子和α粒子诱发的声学信号之间存在显著差异。这一新发现为改进本底抑制提供了可能性,并且可能对暗物质实验特别有用。这种新效应可能归因于α粒子径迹上形成多个气泡,而中子诱发的反冲则产生单个成核点。
