发现亮型跨海王星天体2000 EB173

摘要
我们描述了2000 EB173的发现情况和光度特征,现在它是最亮的跨海王星天体(TNO)之一,反向星等为m_R=18.9,也是最大的Plutino之一,发现于QUEST合作组织的漂移扫描相机下,装配在国家维拉尔 Observatory的1米 Schmidt 望远镜上。我们测得B-V=0.99±0.14,V-R=0.57±0.05,这是许多较暗TNOs所见的红色颜色。在我们的星等限制m_R=20.1±0.20下,单次探测显示出0.015 (+0.034, -0.012) TNOs每平方度 (误差范围为68%置信区间),与较暗调查显示累积数量与10^0.5m_R成正比,一致。假设TNOs的偏差分布的FWHM超过30度,那么很可能还有一百至数百颗亮于m_R=20.1的天体尚未被发现。
