H.E.S.S 对 Geminga 脉冲星周围扩展伽马射线辐射的探测

摘要

Geminga 是一颗神秘的射电宁静伽马射线脉冲星,距地球仅 250 pc。该脉冲星周围的甚高能伽马射线扩展辐射由 Milagro 发现,后经 HAWC 证实,两者均为基于水切伦科夫探测器的实验。然而,尽管进行了针对性观测,Gamma 射线中 Geminga 脉冲星风云存在的证据长期未能被成像大气切伦科夫望远镜(IACTs)探测到。在角尺度 > 2 度的伽马射线辐射探测对 IACT 数据分析中的背景估计提出了相当大的挑战。随着对水切伦科夫与大气切伦科夫仪器互补背景估计技术理解的近期进展,H.E.S.S. IACT 阵列现可确认探测到 Geminga 脉冲星周围半径至少 3 度、能量范围 0.5-40 TeV 的高度扩展伽马射线辐射。我们未发现具有统计显著性的不对称性或能量依赖形态的迹象。在脉冲星周围 1 度半径区域内,于 1 TeV 处获得的流量归一化为 (2.8±0.7)×1012(2.8\pm0.7)\times10^{-12} cm2^{-2}s1^{-1}TeV1^{-1}。为研究脉冲星周围高能轻子晕内的粒子输运,我们向数据拟合了一个电子扩散模型。在 100 TeV 电子能量下获得的扩散系数归一化 D0=7.61.2+1.5×1027D_0 = 7.6^{+1.5}_{-1.2} \times 10^{27} cm2^2s1^{-1},与先前报道的 Geminga 周围脉冲星晕的值相符,且明显低于银河系平均值。
