Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS-02) 将在国际空间站 (ISS) 上安装。通过 gamma 转化产生 e+e- 对，或直接测量光子撞击电磁热力学中和器 (ECAL)，可以测量 gamma 射线。AMS-02 将在 GeV 能量范围内提供精确的 gamma 测量，这对于 Dark Matter 搜索特别相关。此外，探测器的良好角分辨率和识别能力将允许研究主要的银河和星系外来源、diffuse gamma 背景以及 gamma 射线暴 (Gamma Ray Bursts)。
