利用辐射俘获伽马射线演示激光产生中子的诊断

摘要

我们报告了一种飞行时间 (TOF) 技术的新方案,在高强度激光产生的恶劣环境中,于毫秒时间窗口内同时记录了快中子和延迟伽马射线信号。延迟伽马信号到达时间远晚于初始快中子,且以往常被忽略,现被证实为热化中子辐射俘获的结果。伽马光子数与快中子产额之间的线性相关性表明,这些延迟伽马事件可用于中子诊断。该方法能够缓解由瞬发高通量伽马辐射导致的探测效率下降问题,并为高强度激光-靶相互作用实验中的中子诊断提供了一种新途径。
