摘要
华盛顿大学 eScience 研究所运行年度“数据科学为社会公益”(DSSG) 项目，每年遴选四个项目，以培训来自广泛学科的学生，同时帮助社区成员执行通常具有城市重点的社会公益项目。我们呈现其中一个项目——DSSG 2017 “公平未来”项目的观察与思考，该项目调查西雅图正在进行的绅士化进程以及机会获取日益不公平的现象。类似进程可在许多大城市观察到。该项目将建成环境、地理、社会学、经济学、社会工作与市政府等学科通常分析的问题与数据科学方法和可视化相连接。
