我们认为，所有基于泵 - 引擎耦合的常见热力学证明都具有内在的循环论证，因此其价值值得怀疑。在某些情况下，我们提出了避免这些问题的方法；在另一些情况下，我们讨论了其中的困难。特别地，我们强调，卡诺定理的简洁证明需要热力学第二定律的熵表述。
