来自高红移21厘米线的宇宙学

摘要

未来十年最令人期待的前景之一是利用中性氢的21厘米线探索宇宙的“黑暗时代”,在此期间宇宙中的第一批恒星形成。在z>6时,这种光红移到低频射电波段,可以通过新一代的宽视场阵列进行观测。这些实验有潜力观测巨大的体积,并显著改善宇宙学和天体物理学的约束。在这份白皮书中,我们描述了未来十年将如何迈出释放这一潜力的第一步,使我们能够回答关于宇宙基本物理和星际介质的两个关键问题:标准宇宙学模型是否描述了“黑暗时代”期间的宇宙?星际介质在这一重要时期如何演化,最终以氢的再电离结束?
