有些解释最高能宇宙射线的方案预计它们应指向其源头。我们研究了最高能事件 (E>10^20 eV) 中的五个事件，发现它们都与紧凑、射电浓厚的类星系对齐。给定位置测量精度和此类源头稀缺性的条件下，这些对齐出现的概率为0.005。如果该在此处发现的相关性得到进一步数据的确认，原核必须是一种新型介质或由新机制产生。
