本文描述了流体流动数学建模的各个方面，既涉及一般情况，也涉及水力机械。文章回顾了相应数学建模方法的历史发展。描述了这些方面在现代商业CFD软件工具中的实现，以及所实现方法的优缺点。最后就当今流体流动计算的可能性得出了结论。
