本报告关于工作进展，旨在改进对 gauge theories 中带电态的理解。强调了不同方式的实现 physical states 的 gauge 不变性。使用 QED 的perturbation 计算来强调 gauge 不变性本身并不足够：只有其中一 subset 的态具有 direct physical significance。在 QCD 中，一种 non-perturbative 障碍意味着夸克和胶子不能形成 physical states 因此这些粒子并不 truely observables。这设定了一个关于 constituent 夸克模型的根本限制。
