对 GRB 130427A 甚高能辐射的限制

摘要

来自非常明亮且邻近 (z=0.34) 的伽马射线暴 GRB 130427A 的瞬时辐射被多颗轨道望远镜以及基于地面的宽视场光学暂现源监测器探测到。除了该伽马射线暴的强度和邻近性外,其非凡之处在于极长寿命的高能(100 MeV 至 100 GeV)伽马射线辐射,该辐射被费米伽马射线空间望远镜上的大视场望远镜 (Large Area Telescope) 在初始爆发后约 70 ks 内探测到。这种持久的、硬谱的高能辐射表明,最高能的伽马射线可能是通过同步自康普顿过程产生的,尽管也有证据表明高能辐射可能是同步辐射谱的延伸。VERITAS 是一个基于地面的成像大气切伦科夫望远镜阵列,在爆发开始后约 71 ks(约 20 小时)开始对 GRB 130427A 进行后续观测。VERITAS 未探测到该伽马射线暴;然而,观测的高仰角结合该伽马射线暴的低红移,使得 VERITAS 成为探测 GRB 130427A 在 E > 100 GeV 能段辐射的非常灵敏的探针。未探测到信号及由此导出的上限对该爆发的高能伽马射线辐射的同步自康普顿模型施加了限制。
