GRB 150323A 甚高能辐射的强上限

摘要

2015 年 3 月 23 日,VERITAS 对 SwiftSwift-BAT 探测到的伽马射线暴作出响应,观测在 BAT 发射开始后 270 秒、主 BAT 发射峰值后仅 135 秒开始。在 140 GeV 以上未探测到统计显著信号。VERITAS 在 40 分钟积分内对 fluence 的上限对应于约 1% 的瞬时 fluence。我们的上限尤为显著,因为甚高能(VHE)观测仅在瞬时辐射峰值后约 2 分钟开始,而 FermiFermi-LAT 对众多其他暴的观测已揭示高能辐射通常相对于瞬时辐射延迟且持续显著更久。此外,GRB~150323A 的邻近性(z=0.593z=0.593)将河外背景光在 100-200 GeV 的衰减限制为约 50%。我们得出结论:GRB 150323A 具有本质极弱的高能余辉,或其 GeV 谱在约 100 GeV 以下出现转折。若 GRB 爆发于大质量前身星的星风中,VHE 未探测将风密度参数限制为 A3×1011A\gtrsim 3\times 10^{11} g cm1^{-1},与标准 Wolf-Rayet 前身星一致。或者,来自激波波的 VHE 辐射在如 ISM 这类极稀薄介质中将很弱,因此无法排除其作为 GRB 150323A 的环境。
