本文提出了一种“幽默感”的计算机模型。幽默效应被解释为信息处理过程中的一种特定故障，源于需要快速删除传入意识的错误版本。幽默感的生物学功能在于加速信息进入意识的过程，并更充分地利用大脑资源。
