Acioli 和 Ceperley [Phys. Rev. B 54, 17199 (1996)] 在对胶体板总能量的固定节点扩散 Monte Carlo 计算中，报告了在低电子密度下胶体表面能显著高于密度泛函理论中的局域密度近似（LDA）所预测的值。假设在板和体态计算中的固定节点误差相互抵消，我们证明他们的数据得出的表面能更接近 LDA，并且与在随机相近似中获得的表面能合理一致。
