摘要
CMB-S4 是一项拟议实验,旨在将宇宙微波背景(CMB)的极化映射到接近可从地面访问的角尺度上的宇宙方差极限。CMB-S4 在阐明宇宙暴胀、测量中微子质量总和、搜寻早期宇宙中的相对论遗迹、表征暗能量和暗物质以及绘制宇宙物质分布方面的科学目标和能力已在《CMB-S4 科学手册》中描述。本《技术手册》是《科学手册》的配套卷。CMB-S4 这一“第四阶段”实验的雄心勃勃的科学目标,要求实验能力从当前的 Stage-II 实验向前迈进一步。为引导这一进程,我们总结了 CMB 仪器技术的当前状态,并确定了推进其用于 CMB-S4 所需的研发工作。本手册聚焦于四大领域的技术挑战:望远镜设计;接收机光学;焦平面光学耦合;以及焦平面传感器与读出。
