在COSMOS场中追寻高度遮蔽的类星体

(删节版)我们利用COSMOS场中钱德拉和斯皮策望远镜对大面积(超过钱德拉深场CDFs覆盖面积的10倍)的深度覆盖,将高度遮蔽的康普顿厚活动星系核的搜索扩展到更高光度。这些源具有低面密度,只有通过大面积巡天(如COSMOS巡天)才能获得大样本。我们分析了24μ\mum流量高于550μ\muJy的COSMOS MIPS源的X射线性质。对于钱德拉图像中未直接探测到的MIPS源,我们在软X射线和硬X射线波段生成叠加图像。为了估计MIPS源群中康普顿厚AGN的比例,我们将观测到的叠加计数率和硬度比与包含遮蔽AGN和恒星形成星系的详细蒙特卡洛模拟预测值进行比较。在z=0.71.2z=0.7-1.2处,较低光度康普顿厚AGN(logL(2-10keV)=43.5-44)的密度为(3.7±1.1)×105(3.7\pm1.1) \times10^{-5} Mpc3^{-3},相当于X射线选择AGN密度的67%\sim67\%。在高光度和低光度下,红外选择的康普顿厚AGN与X射线选择的无遮蔽和中等遮蔽AGN的比例比较表明,康普顿厚AGN遵循与康普顿薄AGN类似的光度依赖性,在高光度下变得相对稀少。我们估计AGN(无遮蔽、中等遮蔽和康普顿厚)占MIPS源群总数的比例为49±10%49\pm10\%,该值显著高于先前在类似24μ\mum流量下的估计。我们讨论了我们的发现如何约束AGN反馈模型。
