摘要
本文论证，在足够深的层次上，研究自然的传统定量方法面临困难问题，且生物过程应被视为更基本的，这可以在皮尔士符号学和亚德利循环理论的基础上加以阐述。在这种世界观中，惠勒的观察者参与和涌现法则自然产生，而无需人为施加。这指明了一条更深刻理解自然的道路，在此之中意义发挥着定量科学所无法看见的根本作用。
