CAST 实验 TPC 探测器的本底研究与屏蔽效应

摘要
穿越 CERN 轴子太阳望远镜(CAST)实验强磁场区域的日落太阳轴子,可在时间投影室(TPC)探测器中以 X 射线信号的形式被探测到。然而,这些信号可能被实验现场材料的不均匀本底所掩盖。基于探测器特性、CAST 现场的本底辐射、模拟与实验结果的详细分析,使我们设计出一种屏蔽装置,在 1 至 10 keV 能区内,根据位置不同,可使本底水平相比无屏蔽时降低约 4 倍。此外,该屏蔽装置还改善了 TPC 所测本底的均匀性。
