摘要
2006 年 9 月，Piet Groeneboom 正式从代尔夫特理工大学和阿姆斯特丹自由大学的统计学教授职位退休。他在代尔夫特大学的 Aula 发表了题为《Summa Cogitatio》的告别演讲（见 Piet 出版物列表中的 [42]）。为庆祝 Piet 在统计学和概率论领域的杰出贡献，2006 年 7 月 10 日至 14 日在莱顿的洛伦兹中心举办了题为“渐近理论：粒子、过程与逆问题”的研讨会。概率与统计领域的众多顶尖研究人员在此研讨会上发表了演讲，使其成为包括组织者和 Piet 本人在内的所有参会者难忘的盛会。本卷作为 Piet Groeneboom 的纪念文集，收录了研讨会上发表的论文及其他部分贡献，代表了 Piet 最为活跃（且目前仍活跃）的统计学与概率论领域的最新进展。此外，卷中还包含 Piet Groeneboom 的简短简历及其出版物列表。
