特内里费岛观测站的 ASTRI 迷你阵列核心科学

摘要

由意大利国家天体物理研究所(INAF)领导的 ASTRI(意大利复制技术镜面天体物理)项目正在开发并将在特内里费岛观测站部署一个迷你阵列(ASTRI 迷你阵列),该阵列由九台望远镜组成,类似于目前运行于西西里岛埃特纳火山坡上的小口径双镜 Schwarzschild-Couder 望远镜(ASTRI-Horn)。ASTRI 迷你阵列将在数太电子伏(TeV)以上超越当前切伦科夫望远镜阵列的微分灵敏度,将能带拓展至数百 TeV 以上。这将使我们通过把灵敏度性能与优异的角分辨率和能量分辨率相卷积,来探索电磁波谱的新窗口。本文中我们描述了将在运行前四年开展的核心科学,并提供当我们处理当前开放问题(如宇宙线加速、宇宙学与基本物理,以及 TeV 能段时间域天体物理的新窗口)时将获得的突破性结果实例。
