direct search 对自旋无关 Weakly Interacting Massive Particles（WIMP）的常规分析假设 WIMP 与 both nucleons 具有相同的耦合强度，即自旋无关相互作用也是完全 isospin 无关的。尽管在完全 isospin-dependent 相互作用情景下，WIMP-核子横截面被显著抑制，但领先实验仍足够敏感，能够设置比传统呈现的限制更宽松 1-2 个数量级的限制。在 isospin-dependent 情景下，CDMS-II 与 ZEPLIN-I 的限制差异显著减小。本文讨论并应用了一个模型无关框架，以获得当前通用的模型无关限制。
