氩暗物质(ArDM-1t)实验是一个吨级液氩双相时间投影室,专为直接暗物质搜寻而设计。该装置允许通过电荷成像探测器探索液氩中的低能前沿。电离电荷从液相提取到气相,并通过使用大型电子倍增器进行放大,以降低探测阈值。直接探测具有精细空间分辨率的电离电荷,并结合对相关初级闪烁光的幅度和时间演化的测量,为识别WIMP相互作用提供了强有力的工具,可有效区分电子、光子以及可能发生多次散射的中子等本底。一个一吨的液氩探测器目前安装在地面(欧洲核子研究中心),以全面测试所有功能,并很快将移至地下场所。我们将在此强调从该装置中获得的经验教训,这些经验可用于设计用于中微子振荡、质子衰变和天体物理中微子搜寻的大型液氩时间投影室。
