Phoenix 小矮星系的光学速度

我们报告了一项在ANTU上的VLT FORS1 长槽模式下进行的服务模式观测计划的结果，用于确定相邻低表面亮度星系的光学速度。作为我们的服务观测计划的一部分，我们获得了几颗 Phoenix 小矮星系的长槽光谱，推导出该星系的光学中心时赤道速度为 -13 +/- 9 km/s。这一结果与围绕 Phoenix 最可靠的 HI 云之一的速度 (-23 km/s) 高度吻合，但与 Gallart 等人 (2001) 最近发布的 Phoenix 光学中心时赤道速度 (-52 +/- 6 km/s) 显著不同。
