GERDA 实验对 $^{36}$Ar 无中微子双电子俘获的改进上限

摘要
GERmanium Detector Array (GERDA) 实验在液氩低温恒温器中运行富集高纯锗探测器,液氩含有 0.33% 的 Ar,该同位素是双中微子双电子俘获 (2ECEC) 因而也是无中微子双电子俘获 (0ECEC) 的候选核素。若被探测到,该过程将为轻子数不守恒及中微子的 Majorana 性质提供证据。在 Ar 的辐射型 0ECEC 中,会发射能量为 429.88 keV 的单色光子,可被 GERDA 锗探测器探测。我们利用 GERDA 数据搜寻 Ar 的 0ECEC,总存活时间为 4.34 年(GERDA 第二阶段积累 3.08 年,第一阶段积累 1.26 年)。未发现信号,并以此建立了该过程半衰期 90% 置信度下限 T > 1.5x10 yr。
