由 NSF、DARPA、LinkedIn 和 Yahoo! 赞助的 2008 年现代海量数据集算法研讨会（MMDS 2008）于 6 月 25 日至 28 日在斯坦福大学举行。MMDS 2008 的目标是：（1）探索对海量、高维和非线性结构的科学及互联网数据集进行建模和分析的新技术；（2）将计算机科学家、统计学家、数学家和数据分析从业者聚集在一起，以促进思想的交叉融合。
