摘要
我们更仔细地审视了使用结构方程对因果关系进行建模。很明显，结构方程对我们得出的关于因果关系的结论可能产生重大影响。特别是，变量及其值的选择也会对因果关系产生显著影响。这些选择在某种程度上是主观的。我们考虑什么算作合适的选择。更一般地，我们思考是什么使得一个模型成为合适的模型，特别是如果我们想将默认情况考虑在内，正如近期工作所论证的那样是必要的。
